He is risen!! On Easter Sunday we will join in joyful celebration. What is all this about?  It’s about the Lord Jesus Christ, and the joyous new life God offers to everyone through Him. We believe that Jesus lives today through the lives of his followers by God’s grace, through faith and the power of the Holy Spirit.

Whether you have attended church before or not (or have been away for a while), everyone is welcome! Worship here has a blended combination of contemporary and traditional music. Retired Pastor Russ Lesiw will introduce worship, and Pastor Ken Smith will deliver a message about the powerful meaning of the Gospel for each person’s life. You are warmly invited to join us. No previous experience at church is required, and helps are provided for those who are new. We would be honored by your presence, and  welcome your questions and comments. For more information, see the  “Visit Us” tab of our website.

NOTE: There will be no Sunday School classes or coffee hour on Easter Sunday. Regular classes for all ages and coffee hour will resume the next week.

Meet Global Health Consultant Kristy Engel

Friday, September 4, 2015 — Medical missionary and global health consultant Kristy Engel will give a presentation at First Baptist Church of Shelton, CT, and you are warmly invited to attend, and to bring family and friends. Kristy is an RN and pediatric nurse practitioner who served for many years as a medical missionary at Good Samaritan Hospital in La Romana, a city of The Dominican Republic (DR), and who also served in outreach to Haitian communities in that country.

Kristy now serves as a global health consultant with International Ministries of the American Baptist Churches, USA. In this role, she travelled to Africa early in 2015 to work with local people in addressing the Ebola crisis. Some in our church family have greatly enjoyed working alongside Kristy during brief mission trips to The Dominican Republic, and we feel confident that you will enjoy meeting her in person and hearing her speak. Kristy’s last visit here pointed us to what God is doing with people who are in great need, and showed us how God uses willing hearts and hands to help in whatever work or support is needed.

Join us on Friday, September 4, 2015 at 6 pm for a free pizza dinner, followed by a presentation and conversation with Kristy. Dress is casual, and childcare will be available. For more information, please call our church office at 203 929-7704, and leave a message.
